Rachel's 1st Day of Preschool

The preschool class is a separate room part of the same daycare facility Rachel and Jake go to. It is neat becuase the kids put on their shoes and walk outside around the building through a special door so they really feel like the are going to "school".

This past Friday was Rachel's 1st Day of preschool. She was so excited to go to preschool and had a great day. I can't believe my little girl is growing up so fast.

Vacation Up North

This past week we went up north to Lake Ann Michigan and rented a cottage on the lake. We all had a great time and the weather was beautiful. We swam, played in the sand at the beaches, went to the Cherry Festival, picked strawberries, and just overall had a lot of fun. Here are some pictures below of our trip. And yes, the kids did each get rides on the jet ski but this consisted of them basically drifting at about 2 mph. Jake really thought he was the one "driving" though and didn't want to get off!

We got Jake's 1 year photos back and they turned out so well. I can't believe how our little baby growing up into a little boy. I hope to post Rachel's 3 year photos in a couple weeks when we get them back.

Jake's 1st Birthday

So long since my last post! Sorry, things have been so busy.

But I have a great one to post today - Jake's 1st birthday was May 7th. We had a birthday party for him in Grand Rapids Saturday at Uncle Jeff's house. It was so nice! Thanks to everyone who came - it was a wonderful time.

This one looks funny so I have to explain. It is a Polish family tradition at a child's 1st birthday to place a shot glass, silver dollar and rosary in front of the child to see which they will choose. this is supposed to determine whether the child will be a drinker, rich, or a priest (real wide range of choice available). You can see what Jake chose below.

60th Bday Celebration

This past weekend we celebrated my dad's 60th birthday. My dad's sister, her husband, my cousin Stacey and her husband Kevin, their two girls Jensen and Tatum, my cousin Michelle, my brother Jeff and his fiancee Molly ALL came to my parent's house in Troy to celebrate.
